Katapult Firmware Description

• ERCF V2 supports CAN, RS232, USB
• Only CAN firmware is provided here, with rates of 500K and 1M

Entering Flash Mode

The circled part is the BOOT button

• To enter flash mode, the motherboard must be completely powered off. Press and hold the BOOT button, then connect a data-capable TYPE-C cable from the motherboard to the host computer.

• Katapult firmware for ERCF V2
• You can obtain the firmware via the following links:

• Download Firmware Package - Directly download the latest firmware archive
• Repository Address - Visit the firmware repository

• The firmware location is:

FLY-Firmware/ToolBoard/ERCF

• Prepare a data cable with data transfer capability
• Download the firmware to your computer
• Connect the BOOT jumper or hold down the button while connecting to the computer. At this point, the RPI-RP2 disk will appear

• Remove the BOOT jumper or release the button!!!
• Copy the firmware to be flashed into the disk. Please note that only firmware with the UF2 file extension can be used!!! (Do not modify the file extension—it will not work)

• After copying the firmware, the RPI-RP2 disk will automatically disappear, indicating that the firmware flashing is complete!

1. Install the Flashing Tool

   • Enter the following command in SSH
   • Only required for the first flash; no need to execute again later

   cd ~/klipper/lib/rp2040_flash/ && make

2. Execute the following command to check if the connection is successful.

   • Enter lsusb

   • If there is no 2e8a:0003 device, try re-entering flashing mode

   • Due to system version differences, it may display other names; if 2e8a:0003 is present, it indicates entry into flashing mode

   Important Note

   Proceed to the next step only when 2e8a:0003 is present.

3. Pull the Pre-compiled Firmware

   • These are all pre-compiled firmware files
   • Please note that the host machine needs internet access to install
   • The host machine needs to execute the following command to download the firmware package

   cd && git clone https://cnb.cool/3dmellow/FLY-Firmware.git

   • If the firmware package has already been downloaded, it is recommended to update it before proceeding with the remaining steps

   cd ~/FLY-Firmware && git pull

4. Flash the firmware

Only one firmware needs to be flashed.

• Below is the command to flash the 500K CAN rate firmware:

  sudo ~/klipper/lib/rp2040_flash/rp2040_flash ~/FLY-Firmware/ToolBoard/ERCF/FLY_ERCFV2_CANBOOT_CAN_500K.uf2

• Below is the command to flash the 1M CAN rate firmware:

  sudo ~/klipper/lib/rp2040_flash/rp2040_flash ~/FLY-Firmware/ToolBoard/ERCF/FLY_ERCFV2_CANBOOT_CAN_1M.uf2

• Below is the command to flash the USB firmware:

  sudo ~/klipper/lib/rp2040_flash/rp2040_flash ~/FLY-Firmware/ToolBoard/ERCF/FLY_ERCFV2_CANBOOT_USB.uf2

5. If the following prompt appears, the flashing is successful:

After flashing is complete, the motherboard needs to be completely powered off once.

• If the firmware starts normally, the LED will blink.
