Modify Boot Image

This page is used to modify the boot logo, home screen image, and printing interface image for the Fly-WiScreen 7-inch screen. This operation only replaces the resource images of the WiScreen 7 screen and does not modify Klipper, FlyOS-FAST, or the screen firmware program.

Applicable Scope

• Fly-WiScreen 7-inch screen: Follow the method on this page, place the images in the root directory of an SD card or USB drive, then click Upgrade on the screen.
• FLY Screen: The home screen image and printing interface image have the same specifications, but they are replaced automatically after uploading via a browser to the system configuration directory, not using the SD card/USB drive upgrade method described on this page; the current FlyScreen project does not include replacement of the boot_logo.JPG boot logo.

File Requirements

• The image resolution, format, filename, and size must comply exactly with the requirements.
• Filenames are case-sensitive; .JPG in boot_logo.JPG must be uppercase.
• Do not place images in folders; place them directly in the root directory of the SD card or USB drive.

Windows File Extension Display

Windows may hide file extensions by default, easily causing files to be saved as boot_logo.JPG.jpg or print.png.png. Before creating images, enable extension display in File Explorer:

1. Open any folder.
2. Click the View tab at the top.
3. Check File name extensions.
4. When renaming files, confirm the full filename matches exactly with the filenames in the table above.

Preparing Files

1. Create images according to the dimensions in the table above.
2. Confirm the filenames match exactly with the table above.
3. Copy the images to be updated to the root directory of an SD card or USB drive.
4. Safely eject the SD card or USB drive to ensure files are fully written.

Upgrade Steps

1. Ensure the WiScreen 7 has booted normally and entered the screen interface.
2. Insert the prepared SD card or USB drive into the corresponding interface on the screen.
3. Click Upgrade on the screen interface.
4. Wait for the screen to indicate the upgrade is complete or to refresh automatically.
5. After removing the SD card or USB drive, restart the screen to confirm the images have taken effect.

Upgrade Process

Do not disconnect power or remove the SD card or USB drive during the upgrade process. If the upgrade is interrupted, the image resources may not be fully written, requiring you to prepare the files again and perform the upgrade again.

Common Issues

Screen Does Not Recognize the Image

1. Confirm the image is in the root directory of the SD card or USB drive.
2. Confirm the filename has no extra extensions, e.g., do not write it as boot_logo.JPG.jpg.
3. Confirm the extension of boot_logo.JPG is uppercase .JPG.
4. Confirm the file size does not exceed the limit.

Image Appears Distorted or Cropped

Please re-export the image according to the specified resolution. Do not simply rename an image whose aspect ratio does not match the screen.

Old Image Still Displayed After Clicking Upgrade

1. Reformat the SD card or USB drive before copying the images again.
2. Keep only the image files that need to be updated this time to avoid mixing in old files.
3. Re-insert the screen and click Upgrade again.
4. If it still fails, try a different SD card or USB drive.

Differences from FLY Screen

The Fly-WiScreen 7-inch serial screen uses moon2uart communication and does not use the fly_screen switch. fly_screen is the local screen display service of FlyOS-FAST, applicable to local display scenarios such as FLY-TFT and HDMI.

The home screen image and printing interface image for both use the same specifications and filenames, but the replacement methods differ; boot_logo.JPG is only applicable to the Fly-WiScreen 7-inch screen.
