FLY-D5 Mainboard Introduction

The Mellow Fly-D5 is a high-performance 3D printer mainboard developed by the Fly3D mainboard R&D team of Guangzhou Mellow Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. It supports up to 5 stepper motors.

Important Notes
  1. Firmware Support: This mainboard supports Klipper and Marlin firmware. If using Klipper firmware, it requires a host computer.
  2. Power Supply Note: The D5 mainboard does not support reverse powering the host computer through its interfaces.

  • Main Control Chip: Utilizes the STM32F072RBT6 chip based on the 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+ architecture, with a 48MHz clock speed.
  • Communication Bus: Supports CAN bus connection, offering advantages like stable data transmission, low latency, and reliable connectivity.
  • Driver Compatibility: Supports various stepper motor drivers such as A4988, LV8729, DRV8225, TMC2208/2209/5160.
  • Smart Endstops: Onboard DIAG function pins allow for easy sensor homing without physical limit switches by simply using a jumper cap.
  • Rich Interfaces: Provides various expansion interfaces including BLTouch (servo and probe), UART, and 12864 LCD screen.
  • Flexible Power Supply: Supports 12-24V wide-range DC input, ensuring stable power supply and eliminating the need for additional step-down modules.
