Firmware Update

Version Note: If your FLY-ALPS current firmware version is V2.0.0 or higher, there is no need to flash the BOOT firmware. Simply use the web tool to directly update the ALPS firmware.

This document describes how to update the firmware for the FLY-ALPS expansion board. Firmware update consists of two steps:

  1. Use the DFU tool to flash the BOOT firmware
  2. Use the web tool to flash the ALPS firmware

Preparation

Download Firmware

Visit the link below to download the FLY-ALPS firmware package:

  • Firmware Download: FLY-ALPS Firmware
  • The firmware package contains two files:
    • BOOT firmware: Used for the underlying bootloader
    • ALPS firmware: Used for the main device functions

Enter DFU Mode

  1. Press and hold the BOOT button on the FLY-ALPS board
  2. Connect the device to your computer using a Type-C cable
  3. Release the BOOT button
  4. The device is now in DFU mode

Flash BOOT Firmware

Refer to the following document to complete the BOOT firmware flashing:

Note: Ensure that you use the DFU tool to flash the BOOT firmware, not the ALPS firmware.

Flash ALPS Firmware

Confirm Device Status

  1. Check the device indicator light status
  2. In normal flashing mode, the LED inside the red box should be slowly blinking
  3. If it is not blinking, double-click the BOOT button to enter flashing mode

Perform Flashing

  1. Visit the FLY-ALPS Firmware Update Tool
  2. Click the Flash Firmware button
  3. Select the FLY-ALPS device, then click Connect
  4. After successful connection, click Select Firmware and choose the downloaded ALPS firmware file
  5. Click Start Flashing
  6. Wait for the flashing to complete; the device will restart automatically

Tip: Do not disconnect the device during the flashing process to avoid firmware damage.
