💾 1. How to Backup Using a USB Flash Drive? (Configuration Archiving)
You can backup important system settings and files to a USB flash drive just like archiving, to prevent data loss.
Operation Steps:
-
Prepare the USB Flash Drive
Under the root directory of the USB flash drive, create the following three folders (please ensure the names are exactly the same; it is recommended to directly copy and paste them):printer_data/config
printer_data/logs
printer_data/gcodes💡 Tip: Right-click inside the USB flash drive -> New -> Folder, then paste the names above.
-
Start the Backup
Insert the prepared USB flash drive into the device. The system will automatically detect it and copy all the files from the corresponding folders inside the device to these three folders on your USB flash drive.
⚠️ Please Note: If there are already files with the same name in the folders on the USB flash drive, they will be overwritten. Use an empty USB flash drive or ensure that the files can be overwritten.
🔄 2. How to Update the System Using a USB Flash Drive? (System Upgrade)
Preparations Before Upgrade:
- Prepare a USB 2.0 Flash Drive: Please use a USB 2.0 flash drive or card reader. USB 3.0 devices (blue ports) may cause very slow upgrades due to compatibility issues.
- Download the System Image: You need to download the corresponding full system upgrade package in advance.
Operation Steps:
-
Download the System Package
Please go to the system download page and download the full system upgrade package according to your device model. -
Copy to USB Flash Drive
Place the downloaded full system upgrade package (a file ending with.full.fup) directly into the root directory of the USB flash drive.
- Please ensure that the upgrade package you download exactly matches your device.
- If the upgrade package placed on the USB flash drive does not match your device, the system will not display any prompt after inserting the USB flash drive. This is normal behavior; please check and replace it with the correct upgrade package.
-
Connect and Upgrade
Insert the USB flash drive containing the system package into the USB port of the device. After detecting the update file, the system will pop up an update notification on both the web management interface and the WiScreen-7 inch screen.🖥️ Important Reminder: If you are using the
KlipperScreentouchscreen, the update notification will not be displayed on the screen. Please be sure to log in to the web interface to check. -
After seeing the notification, click the “Start Update” button, and the system will automatically complete the entire upgrade process.
