OTA System Update Guide

This document provides a detailed introduction to the OTA (Over-The-Air) update function of the FlyOS-Fast system, helping you upgrade your system safely and conveniently.

Version Support Description​

  • V1.3.0 and above: Supports OTA online update function
  • V1.3.3 and above: Added USB drive system update method

Preinstalled Service Version Description​

The FlyOS-Fast system includes mainstream services such as Klipper, RRF, Mainsail, Fluidd, Moonraker, and KlipperScreen. These services follow the following version management strategy when the system is packaged:

Targeted Optimization​

We have performed specific targeted optimizations on core services such as Klipper, Mainsail, Fluidd, Moonraker, and KlipperScreen to enhance system stability and printing performance.

Important Warning

Do not manually upgrade or replace these services. Manual switching will invalidate the targeted optimizations and may affect system stability and functional compatibility. For updates, please obtain the latest version through the official OTA method.

Version Timeliness Guarantee​

All service components integrated during system packaging are the latest official versions at the time of build, with a version delay controlled within 48 hours.

Update Strategy​

During the system image compilation phase, the latest stable versions are pulled from the official repositories of each service for integration. An intelligent update strategy is adopted: Any modified files or repositories will skip updates and retain the current version

Notes​

Due to the time required for system build and testing, the actual released system image may contain service versions up to two days behind the latest official versions. This is normal. For specific version requirements or questions, please contact technical support.

Update Method Selection​

Network Update Conditions​

  • The device is connected to the internet
  • System version is V1.3.0 or higher

Operation Steps​

  1. Access in your browser: http://[Device IP Address]:9998
  2. The system will automatically check for available updates
  3. If a new version is available, click the "Update" button to start the upgrade
  4. Wait for the system to automatically download and install the update

💡 Tip: Do not power off or perform printing operations during the update process

Update Precautions​

General Safety Tips​

  • ✅ Pause all printing tasks before updating
  • ✅ Ensure stable device power supply to avoid unexpected power outages
  • ✅ It is recommended to back up important configuration files in advance

Post-Update Actions​

  • After completing the OTA update, please recompile the Klipper firmware
  • It is recommended to restart the device to ensure all services load properly
