Overview

FlyOS-Fast is a lightweight Linux system deeply optimized for 3D printing, providing a stable and efficient operating environment for the Fly series of upper computer platforms.

Core Features

System Architecture

• Single-User Mode: Minimalist design, supports only the root user, ensuring system security and stability
• File System Optimization: Only /etc and /data directories are writable; core directories are read-only, significantly reducing the risk of damage from power failures
• Fast Boot: Optimized boot process, completing KlipperScreen startup within 30 seconds

Software Ecosystem

• Complete Pre-installed Ecosystem: Pre-installed with mainstream services including Klipper, RRF, Mainsail, Fluidd, Moonraker, KlipperScreen, etc.
  • Targeted Optimization: We have performed specific targeted optimizations on core services such as Klipper, Mainsail, Fluidd, Moonraker, and KlipperScreen to enhance system stability and printing performance
  • Important Warning: Do not manually upgrade or replace these services; manual switching will render the targeted optimizations ineffective, potentially affecting system stability and feature compatibility
  • Version Timeliness Guarantee: All service components integrated during system packaging are the latest official versions at the time of build, with a version delay controlled within 48 hours
  • Build Mechanism: During the system image compilation phase, the latest stable versions are pulled from each service's official repository for integration.
  • Intelligent Update Strategy: Any files or repositories that have been modified will skip updates and retain their current versions
  • Notes: Due to the time required for system build and testing processes, the version of services integrated in the released system image may differ from the latest official version by up to two days; this is normal. If there are specific version requirements or questions, please contact technical support
• Streamlined Package Management: Removes traditional package managers, pre-installs necessary tools, maintaining system lightness
• Environment Optimization: Global Python environment, simplifying plugin installation and command execution
