Host Driver Compatibility

FLY-USB-LCD7 requires a host-side driver to be installed before it can be used as an extended display. The driver supports four platforms: Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android.

Windows

• Supports Windows 10 version 1903 (build 18362) and above, or Windows 11 (build 22000+)
• Windows 10 version 1809 (build 17763) is not supported
• The system must provide System32\drivers\UMDF\IddCx.dll
• The installer architecture must match the host machine (x64 or ARM64)

Linux

• Kernel version >= 5.4.0, no declared upper limit
• Requires DRM/KMS, USB Host support, and complete kernel build headers
• Requires the drm_gem_shmem_helper.h header file; the upstream 5.4 standard path requires enabling CONFIG_DRM_GEM_SHMEM_HELPER
• The userspace encoder hardware backend (VAAPI/NVENC, RK35XX MPP, H618 Cedar, etc.) depends on the target SoC

macOS

• macOS 13.0 and above, no declared upper limit
• Requires Screen Recording permission to start transmission
• Touch input requires Accessibility permission
• The virtual display uses the private CGVirtualDisplay API, which must be re-verified with each new macOS version

Android

• Android 10 (API 29) and above, no declared upper limit
• Requires USB Host/OTG capability and USB device authorization
• Each screen casting session requires the user to grant MediaProjection permission
• Starting from Android 13 (API 33), notification permission is required
• Android DRM/protected content cannot be captured via MediaProjection
