Connecting to the Host Machine via SSH

Power Off Operation

Before starting, completely shut down the printer and disconnect the power supply. Do not plug or unplug wiring, organize interface cable sequences, or touch terminals while the power is on.

Danger

This document applies only to FLY host machines
If you are compiling and flashing firmware, please refer to the network connection tutorial instead of the serial connection tutorial

You can connect to the device via serial port or WiFi
Please prepare MobaXterm_Personal or other SSH terminal tools in advance
Please confirm that the SD card or M2WE has been flashed with the corresponding host system
If the host machine fails to start properly, please remove peripherals such as drivers, limit switches, fans, etc.!!!
Finally, connect to SSH via the network for convenient firmware compilation!!
If you need to compile firmware, please refer to the tutorial on connecting to the host machine via WiFi or Ethernet cable

Installing the System Storage Card

Ensure the system card has the corresponding system flashed; otherwise, it will not boot

Installing the Antenna

Install the antenna for the M2WE or 2.4G WiFi module

Caution

The FLY host machine requires the M2WE or 2.4G WIFI module; otherwise, WiFi cannot be used
Please note that the host machine does not support WiFi networks with Chinese names, nor does it support dual-band combined 2.4G and 5G WiFi

The WiFi antenna connector is indicated by the red arrow
The WiFi antenna port is ipex1
Please install the antenna onto the M2WE; otherwise, poor signal may prevent connection to the router

Power Supply

Connect the FLY host machine to the computer using a USB Type-C cable
Ensure the USB Type-C cable supports data transfer!
After the system starts, the indicator light will flash rapidly!!
Flashing indicates that the system has started

Connecting to Host Machine SSH via Serial Port Using Web Page

Connect the host machine to the computer via USB, then click Device Connect below.
If successful, USB Serial or a similar device will be displayed.
Select the corresponding device, then click Connect.
A prompt will appear upon successful connection.
FlyOS-FAST default username is root, default password is mellow.
Starting from version V1.3.2, the FAST system automatically logs in via serial connection by double-clicking or pressing Enter twice consecutively.

Connecting to Host Machine SSH via Serial Port

If the host machine is properly connected to the computer, open Device Manager to see the CH340 port.

Open MobaXterm and configure as follows. Select the port previously seen in Device Manager.

Please note that Speed(bps)* must be set to 115200.

If everything is normal, the boot screen will appear.
Wait a moment; the system is booted when this screen appears.

If after a few minutes, the screen shows nothing like the image below, press Enter a few times.

To view the device IP, ensure a network cable or Wi-Fi is connected. Connect WIFI

Connecting to Host Machine SSH via Network IP

Log into the router admin panel that the host machine is connected to, unless you know the host machine's IP address.
Ensure you know the host machine's username and password.
FlyOS-FAST default username is root, default password is mellow.
If the motherboard has started and is connected to the network, you can connect to SSH using the following method.
Open MobaXterm and configure as follows. Fill in the IP viewed previously, or check it in the router admin panel.

Note: Step 4 here requires entering the host machine's username.

The first time you connect, this window will pop up. Click Accept.

You will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the host machine's password and press Enter.

Note: The password entered here is invisible. Just press Enter after typing.

For the FLY-FAST system, username is root, password is mellow.
