🚀 Quick Start

🎯 Goal of this guide: Complete the system deployment and firmware flashing for the Fly-C8P motherboard within 30 minutes, bringing it to a state where it can connect to Klipper and perform basic tests.
✅ Completion indicator: Access the Klipper interface via a web browser and successfully connect to the Fly-C8P motherboard.

📍 Important Notes
  • 📦 Required Accessories: Fly-C8P must be used with Fly-M2WE or a TF card, otherwise the system will not boot.
  • ⚡ Power Requirements: Input voltage range is 12V-24V. Do not exceed this range.
  • 🔌 Safe Operation: Always disconnect power before performing any wiring operations! Follow the guide's instructions when flashing firmware.
  • 🔧 Tool Preparation: Prepare basic tools such as screwdrivers and data cables in advance.

📦 Step 1: Prepare Tools and Resources

📝 Included Content
  • MobaXterm (for connecting to the host computer)
  • CH340 (serial port driver for system connection)
  • Panasonic_SDFormatter (for formatting TF cards)
  • SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer (for flashing the lower computer firmware)

🖥️ Step 2: Install System and Basic Configuration

1. System Image Flashing

2. System Basic Configuration

3. Network and Remote Connection

4. Display Device Configuration

📝 Notes for this step
  • Ensure the TF card or M2WE is correctly formatted before flashing the image.
  • The first system boot may take 3-5 minutes; please be patient.
  • Default SSH credentials: username: root, password: mellow.
  • Screen configuration is only necessary if you have a screen device.

🔌 Step 3: Flash Firmware and Device Identification

Why is this step needed? The previous step installed the operating system for the host computer (computing module). This step is to flash the Klipper firmware onto the lower computer (the Fly-C8P control motherboard itself). Both need to be paired to work.

1. Firmware Explanation and DIP Switch Selection

2. Flash USB Firmware or CAN Bridge Firmware

  • Choose to flash the corresponding firmware based on your connection method.
📝 Notes for this step
  • Ensure the motherboard's DIP switch is set to the correct position before flashing firmware; otherwise, the device may not be recognized.
  • The Device ID is essential information for Klipper configuration; make sure to obtain it correctly.
  • If flashing fails, try flashing the BL firmware first, then flash the main firmware.

🛠️ Step 4: Hardware Connection and Interface Configuration

1. Basic Hardware Connections

2. Klipper Reference Configuration

3. External Driver Connection and Configuration (Optional Feature)

4. Motherboard Precautions

📝 Notes for this step
  • Strongly Recommended: Ensure power is completely disconnected before any wiring operations.
  • Verify power polarity is correct; reversing it may damage the motherboard.
  • Refer to your printer frame diagram for motor wiring sequence.
  • Check thermocouple connections before heating the heated bed and hotend.

📈 Step 5: Extended Features and Advanced Configuration (Optional)

The following features can be configured step by step as needed after completing the basic setup and ensuring the printer operates normally:

📝 Extended Features and Advanced Configuration

Camera Usage

External Toolboard

Resource Download

  • It is recommended to configure and test extended features one by one to avoid changing too many parameters simultaneously.
  • Camera configuration requires an additional USB camera device.
  • Resonance compensation requires an accelerometer sensor.
  • Toolboard connection is suitable for multi-toolhead 3D printers.
