Firmware Flashing Guide

Please read this section carefully before compiling and flashing the firmware!!

Notes

• D5 produced after September 1, 2024, has already been pre-flashed with Katapult firmware
• Once the BL is flashed once, it is not necessary to flash it again in the future (D5's BL is the Katapult firmware)
• BL is just a bootloader used to boot the Katapult firmware, and it is also necessary to flash the Klipper firmware

Determine the firmware you need

• Please note that you only need to flash one of the firmwares

• D5 can connect to the host computer in the following two ways
• USB Firmware (Most commonly used)
  • Advantages: Reliable and stable communication
  • Disadvantages: May affect data transmission if there are multiple USB devices
• USB Bridge Firmware (Usually used when using a CAN tool board)
  • Advantages: Can connect multiple devices without occupying the USB port
  • Disadvantages: May cause errors such as homing timeout when used together with KlipperScreen.
