How to Determine Which Firmware You Need

  • Note: Since the C8 is an integrated mainboard with both upper and lower computers, if you are not using a CAN tool board, you must select the USB firmware!
  • When using a CAN tool board, you must select the CAN bridge firmware.
  • USB Firmware
    • Advantages: The most common connection method in 3D printers, offering reliable and stable communication.
    • Disadvantages: May affect data transmission if multiple USB devices are connected.
  • USB Bridge Firmware
    • Advantages: Allows connecting multiple devices simultaneously without occupying USB ports. Only required when using a CAN tool board.
    • Disadvantages: Initial firmware compilation and flashing can be more complicated.

DIP Switch Introduction

The FLY C8 connects to the upper computer via DIP switches. Incorrect switch positions will prevent normal operation.

Important Note

Please ensure the DIP switches are set to the specified positions for proper connection to the upper computer.

Connecting to the Onboard Upper Computer

  • Set DIP switches 1 and 2 to the right to connect the lower computer to the upper computer via the built-in USB.
  • Set DIP switches 3 and 4 to the left; otherwise, the connection between the lower and upper computers may be affected.

  • After setting the DIP switches as described, the USB port below will be occupied by the lower computer. Do not connect other devices to it.

Connecting to an External Upper Computer

  • Set DIP switches 3 and 4 to the right to connect the lower computer to the upper computer via the built-in USB.
  • Set DIP switches 1 and 2 to the left; otherwise, the connection between the lower and upper computers may be affected.
